Ansel Adams (1902-1984)
Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico, 1941
15 x 19 inches, silver gelatin print: The one we have on display is not for sale. Another can probably be found.
|This must be the most famous photograph in the field, or close to it. Most everyone I talk to has a distinct memory of when they first saw an actual Moonrise print; it has such a strong effect. The first one I saw was at the George Eastman House in Rochester. When we had our first Adams show back in 1973, this print sold for $250. Now itís worth over $50,000!|
