We held a show from January 21 to February 27, 1999 featuring photographs of the Brooklyn Bridge by various people. The exhibit also showed nine hand-pulled photogravures (not pictured) by Walker Evans taken in 1929 and published in 1994 by the Eakins Press Foundation, New York. (Images are 10 x 6 inches in size printed on 17 x 14 inch Rives B F K paper: $2,500.00 for the whole set.) Below you will find photographs ranging from a beautiful anonymous print made in 1890 to images by several contemporary photographers.
The Brooklyn bridge is definitely one of the most photographed bridges in the world since its construction over a 14 year period beginning in 1870. It was the first steel-wire suspension bridge ever built.
