Images of the Built Environment in Texas and Mexico

This is our second show of the brilliant color documentary photography of Peter Calvin. The photographs were made in the Dallas area and in the Mexican town of Ajijíc in the state of Jalisco. His work concerns what he discovers at street level, making compositional sense out of an urban tangle of colorful buildings, lights, overhead wires, streets, cars and many other elements.

Mr. Calvin's work has been exhibited in our area on and off for over 30 years. He has taught on the college level and has also run a commercial photography business. He holds an MFA from Texas A&M-Commerce.

Peter Calvin produces outstanding 12 x 18 inch ink pigment prints. (They are much sharper and more brilliant than they appear on your monitor!) The photographs are also made digitally. Prints matted to 20 x 24 inches sell for $430.00.
