Below are the photographs from our latest exhibit of the wonderful work of James Evans. Living in west Texas, out in Marathon, his photographs of the local people and landscape have been widely published and appreciated in this state and across the country. His work has been shown in Texas Monthly and in many other publications both in the U.S.A. and the U.K. His prints are in the photography collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center at the University of Texas. Awhile back The University of Texas Press published the second large monograph of his work entitled Crazy from the Heat. Mr. Evans was born in West Virginia in 1954. He lived in Philadelphia before coming to Texas and moved to Marathon in 1988. |
