Terry Falke's Observations in an Occupied Wilderness concentrates upon the terrain and culture of the American Southwest. Beautiful, yet wry, Falke's work honors the extraordinary beauty of land and light, while emphasizing incongruities observed in humankind's interaction with the environment. Working in color with an 8 x 10" camera, his images are both personal and provocative, often raising as many questions as they answer.
Mr. Falke has photographed various aspects and issues in the American landscape for more than 30 years. His work has been featured in many group and solo exhibitions and is held in numerous major public collections. He has a Master of Fine Arts degree from Bard College, New York.
The exhibition prints of the images in Observations in an Occupied Wilderness are conventional photographic C-prints made entirely by the photographer in his own darkroom. Usual sizes are 20 x 24, 24 x 30 and 30 x 40 in a price range from $900.00 to $3,000.00.
