| T.S. Eliot delivered a lecture on poetry, and the next morning I went over to photograph him for the student newspaper. He was at a friend’s house, and I was happy to pick out what was interesting in the moment—say, when Eliot tried to clarify a point he was making. The photograph appeared on the front page of the Harvard Crimson the next day, but as usual with a famous subject, I have no idea if he saw it or liked it.
