June Redford Van Cleef's latest body of work is a collection of documentary images of the people, buildings and landscapes along the borders of Texas' Presidio County and Mexico's state of Chihuahua. Ms. Van Cleef was born (1941) and raised in West Texas. Today she is a professor of photography at Collin County Community College (located in Plano, a Dallas suburb) where she founded the photography department in 1988. She has taught for many years, all the time building up a large body of documentary photography. A few years ago, she authored a book entitled The Way Home: Photography from the Heart of Texas which featured images from Hamilton county spanning two decades. Her work has been included in many venues, and it is in the collections of the Dallas Museum of Art, the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
