LIFE Magazine

Collectible Photographs

Life Magazine was perhaps the greatest periodical of photojournalism in history. It was published weekly from Nov. 23, 1936 until Dec. 29, 1972. It was the official showplace of most of the photographers that are now household names in the field. The selection of powerful photographs below, many well known and many not, have been expertly printed in the Life lab, and signed by the photographers, with few exceptions. Most were made and signed in the 1970s and kept in archival storage. They are definite collector's pieces, and some are quite reasonable.

Photographers shown:  Margaret Bourke-White (1904-1971),  Ed Clark (1911-2000),  Loomis Dean (1917-2005,  Alfred Eisenstaedt (1898-1995),  Andreas Feininger (1906-1999),  Martha Holmes (1923-2006),   John Loengard (1934-2020),  Carl Mydans (1907-2004),  Joe Rosenthal (1911-2006)               Availablity and prices are subject to change.                  All images are © Time Inc.
