Ferne Koch

Ferne Koch (1913-2001) began her documentary photography in Paris in the late 1940s. She, along with her husband, went out almost every day to photograph different sections of the city. Over the years, they continued visiting and photographing the city. Her work has been seen in many galleries and publications and is in several major museum collections. She was an invited exhibitor in two large international photographic events: the 20th Rencontres International Photographie at Arles, France in 1989 and FotoFest 90 in Houston, Texas. During the 1996 Olympics, her work was featured in a show at Atlanta’s High Museum of Art.
