Geoff Winningham


Geoff Winningham is one of the best known photographers in this part of the country. It was during the 1970s that Mr. Winningham became widely recognized for his humorous documentary work around Texas. He has created seven books, three films and numerous exhibits. His photographs are in important museum collections across the nation, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum, the Dallas Museum of Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Mr. Winningham has been awarded two Guggenheim fellowships, five National Endowment for the Arts grants and numerous other commissions. He was born in 1943 and lives in Houston. He has been a Professor of Art at Rice University since 1969.
